Dr. Levin received his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He is focused on facilitating the personal growth of his clients and sees the issues with which people struggle as opportunities for creating more freedom and happiness in their lives. Dr. Levin values establishing respectful, supportive, and empowering relationships with his clients. He skillfully creates a safe therapeutic environment by focusing on understanding the client’s experience and not judging that experience. Clients often leave sessions with Dr. Levin feeling relieved that at least one person really understands what they are going through. As a result, they feel as if a burden has been lifted and have more freedom to make decisions in their lives. Dr. Levin is a certified instructor of the Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) program and does lectures and workshops on parenting skills. These skills have proven to be very effective in reducing many of the conflicts between parents and their children. Dr. Levin often incorporates the P.E.T. skills into the work he does with families. He offers P.E.T. classes at the offices of Drs. Gault, Fishbein, and Associates periodically. Dr. Levin has worked with people with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, school problems, behavior issues, parent-child difficulties, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. He has a broad base of experience that includes working with students at Northeastern Illinois University in the Counseling Office and with people with chronic mental illness at the community mental health center in Skokie. He has an interest in yoga and philosophy and studied Chinese Medicine to deepen his understanding of holistic treatment. He received his Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies and Premedical Studies from Northwestern University. Dr. Levin lives with his wife, twin boys, and two cats.
